Salon website in India: what to include and what it costs

By 10 min read

Short answer: A salon website in India needs a service list with prices, a "Book on WhatsApp" button, a gallery of your own work with permission, bridal and party packages, your timings and location with a map, and a few Google reviews. A site like this typically costs ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 one-time, and a strong one-page version starts under ₹10,000.

Salon and parlour owners usually come to us with the same story: "Our Instagram is doing well, but new customers still call to ask the price of a haircut and where we are." A salon website answers those questions before the call, catches the people who search on Google instead of Instagram, and turns "how much?" into a booking. This guide covers what salon customers search for, the pages a hair salon, beauty parlour or unisex salon website needs, what it costs, and the mistakes we see most.

What salon customers actually search for

The person looking for a salon has a service in mind and three questions:

  1. Where and when. "Salon near me", "ladies parlour in Vastrapur", "unisex salon open on Sunday", "hair salon near me open now". They want to know you are close and open when they are free.
  2. How much. "Haircut price in Surat", "keratin treatment cost", "bridal makeup charges", "facial price list". Price is the deciding question and most salon sites do not answer it.
  3. Is it good and is it clean. "Best salon for hair colour", "bridal makeup artist reviews", "salon with hygiene". They look at photos of your work, your reviews, and whether the place looks clean.

For bridal and party bookings, the search is longer: "bridal makeup package with hair and draping", "pre-bridal package price". These are the highest-value enquiries a salon gets, and they deserve their own page.

Pages and sections a salon website needs

A single salon can have all of these as sections on one page. A salon with bridal work, several stylists, or a second branch does better with separate pages so each service can rank for its own search.

Page or section What goes on it Why it matters
Home Name, type (ladies, gents, unisex), area, a photo of your best work, timings, "Book on WhatsApp" button, three reviews Answers where, when and "is this my kind of place" in five seconds
Services and prices Every service grouped (hair, skin, nails, makeup, spa, men's) with a price or starting price The most-visited section; removes the biggest doubt
Bridal and party packages Pre-bridal, bridal, engagement, party makeup, family packages, what is included, starting price, trial policy The most profitable enquiries; a separate search
Gallery Your own work: haircuts, colour, makeup, nails, before and after, with permission People book what they can see
Team Stylist or artist photos, names, specialities, years of experience if true Customers follow a stylist as much as a salon
Hygiene and products Sterilisation, disposable tools, brands you use (name them), patch tests The unspoken doubt, especially since 2020
Offers Festival and wedding-season offers, first-visit discount, referral deal, with an end date Reason to book now
Location and timings Address, Google Maps embed, landmark, parking, hours, weekly off "Near me" searches and directions
Reviews Google reviews quoted, with a link to leave one Social proof and more reviews
FAQs and contact Walk-in or appointment, home service, kids' haircuts, UPI, cancellation; phone, WhatsApp, map, Instagram Saves the same ten WhatsApp questions every day

What a good salon website looks like

Picture a unisex salon on a busy road. The home page opens with a clean photo of the salon interior, the name, "Unisex salon and bridal studio in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad", and two buttons: "Book on WhatsApp" and "See prices". Just below: "Open 10 am to 9 pm, closed Tuesday". Then six popular services with prices: women's haircut, men's haircut, global colour, keratin, facial, bridal makeup. Then a strip of eight photos of real work. Then three Google reviews. Then a map and a WhatsApp button that stays in the corner as you scroll.

The services page lists everything by category, each line with a price or "from ₹". The bridal page shows three packages side by side with what is included, a gallery of brides you have permission to show, the trial policy, and a WhatsApp button that opens "Hi, I want to enquire about a bridal package for [date]".

A ladies' parlour version says "ladies only" in the first line, shows a female team, and leads with skin, hair and pre-bridal packages. A men's salon version leads with haircut, beard and grooming packages and walk-in timings.

Services and prices: show them

Most salon websites we see say "Contact us for prices". Owners worry that a nearby salon will undercut them or that the price will put people off. In practice, the nearby salon already knows your prices, and hiding them only pushes the serious customer to the salon that shows them.

List every service with a price. Where it depends on hair length or product, write "from ₹800" and explain in one line. Show festival offers with the regular price, the offer price and the end date. Keep the price list as text, not a photo of the menu card: text reads clearly on a phone, is easy to update, and can be read by Google and AI assistants. Ask your developer to add structured data for a beauty salon so Google understands your services, hours and location; visitors never see it, but it helps your details show correctly.

Photos and content tips

  • Shoot your own work on a phone, in daylight or under your salon lights, against a plain wall. Before and after side by side is the most convincing format.
  • Get permission every time, ideally a "yes" on WhatsApp that you keep. Blur faces if the client prefers. Never use photos from the internet or from another salon's Instagram.
  • Photograph the salon itself: the entrance with your board, the chairs, the wash area, the sterilisation setup, the product shelf. Clean and bright wins bookings.
  • Name the products you use. Customers search for brands, and "we use professional salon colour brands" (name the ones you actually use) answers a question people actually ask.
  • Write like you talk at the counter. "A women's haircut takes about 45 minutes and starts at ₹500" beats "We offer premium hair styling solutions".
  • Put the area in the title and first line. "Salon in Vastrapur, Ahmedabad" is what "near me" and area searches match.

Connecting it to Google Business Profile, WhatsApp and Instagram

The website and your Google Business Profile work together. If you have not claimed the profile yet, our guide to getting your shop on Google Maps walks through it. Pick "Beauty salon", "Hair salon" or "Unisex salon" as the primary category, add the website link, and keep the name, address, phone and timings identical in both places. Add new photos monthly, put a "Leave a review" QR at the counter, and reply to every review.

For WhatsApp, every "Book" button should be a click-to-chat link with a ready message: "Hi, I want to book [service] on [day] around [time]". Set quick replies for the price list, timings and directions, and an away message for after hours. If you want confirmations and reminders to go out automatically, that is what the WhatsApp Autopilot setup on our WhatsApp automation page does.

For Instagram, embed your latest posts on the home page and put the website link in your bio. Instagram is the gallery; the website is the price list, the map and the booking button.

What a salon website costs in India

At the time of writing, a one-page professional site with services and prices, gallery, timings, map and WhatsApp booking typically costs ₹8,000 to ₹15,000. A five- to eight-page site with separate services, bridal, gallery, team and contact pages, text written for you and Google search setup usually costs ₹15,000 to ₹25,000. Online booking with slots and advance payment starts around ₹35,000 and only pays off with several stylists and a full diary; for most salons, WhatsApp handles bookings. Add ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 a year for the domain and hosting. Our guide to website development cost in India explains what moves the price and the questions to ask before you pay anyone.

Mistakes salon owners make

  1. No prices, which sends the serious customer to the salon that shows them.
  2. Price list as a photo of the menu card, blurry on a phone and outdated in a month.
  3. Stock photos of models instead of your own work.
  4. Client photos used without asking, followed by an angry message and a deleted review.
  5. A booking button that opens a long form instead of WhatsApp.
  6. Bridal packages hidden inside a general services list instead of their own page.
  7. No mention of hygiene or products, when that is the question people are too polite to ask.
  8. The domain in the developer's name, so the site is stuck when you change developers.

Launch checklist

  1. Every service has a price or a starting price, as text.
  2. Bridal and party packages have their own section with what is included.
  3. Every client in a photo has said yes on WhatsApp.
  4. Timings and weekly off match Google Business Profile exactly.
  5. Google Maps embed opens directions on a phone.
  6. The "Book on WhatsApp" button opens a ready message; test it from a friend's phone.
  7. Hygiene practices and product brands are mentioned.
  8. The area name is in the page title and the first paragraph.
  9. Website link is added to Google Business Profile, Instagram and WhatsApp Business.
  10. Domain and hosting logins are in your name and saved safely.

The short version

A salon website answers the questions customers ask before they book: where you are, when you are open, what it costs, and whether your work is good and your place is clean. Show services with prices as text, give bridal packages their own page, use your own photos with permission, mention products and hygiene, and put a WhatsApp booking button on every screen. Match it to your Google Business Profile and use Instagram for the gallery. A one-page site costs under ₹10,000 and a full site ₹15,000 to ₹25,000, plus a few thousand a year for domain and hosting.

Common questions

Should I put prices on my salon website?

Yes. "Haircut price" and "bridal makeup charges" are among the most common searches for a salon, and a price list is what people check before booking. Show a starting price if the final amount depends on hair length or the package. Salons that hide prices lose the booking to the one that shows them.

Do I need a booking system, or is WhatsApp enough?

For most salons and parlours in India, WhatsApp is enough. A "Book on WhatsApp" button opens a ready message with the service and preferred time, and your front desk confirms. A full online booking system with slots and payments costs more and only pays off when you have several stylists and a very full diary.

How much does a salon website cost in India?

A professional salon, parlour or beauty studio website typically costs ₹10,000 to ₹25,000 one-time in India at the time of writing. A one-page site with services, prices, gallery, map and WhatsApp booking starts under ₹10,000. Online booking with payments pushes it above ₹35,000.

Can I show before-and-after photos of my clients?

Only with clear permission, ideally a yes on WhatsApp that you keep. Tell the client exactly where the photo will appear and remove it if they ask later. Bridal clients in particular should be asked before, not after, the wedding photos go on your site or Instagram.

Is Instagram enough for a salon?

Instagram shows your work beautifully, but it does not appear for "salon near me" searches on Google, and a new customer cannot find your price list or timings in two taps. A simple website catches the Google search, answers price and timing, and sends people to Instagram for the gallery.
