Website for gym in India: pages, prices and a checklist
By Darshana Patel10 min read
Short answer: A website for a gym in India needs your membership plans with prices, your trainers, a class timetable, real photos of the floor and the people, your location with timings, and a WhatsApp button that books a free trial in one tap. A site like this typically costs ₹10,000 to ₹30,000 one-time, and a strong one-page version starts under ₹10,000.
Gym owners often tell us, "Everyone finds us on Instagram." That is true for people who already follow you. The person who just moved to your area and typed "gym near me" or "yoga classes in Kothrud" into Google sees a map with three gyms and a few websites, not your reels. A website for a gym, fitness studio or yoga studio is how you catch that person, answer their questions, and get them in for a trial. This guide covers what they search for, the pages the site needs, what it costs, and the mistakes we see most.
What gym customers actually search for
The person searching for a gym has three questions, usually in this order:
- Where and when. "Gym near me", "24 hour gym in Andheri", "ladies gym in Rajkot", "yoga studio near me morning batch". They want to know if you are close enough and open when they are free.
- How much. "Gym fees in Indore", "monthly gym membership price", "Zumba class fees". If your site does not answer this, they assume it is expensive and move on.
- Is it for me. "Gym for beginners", "women's batch", "personal trainer near me", "CrossFit box", "yoga for back pain". They are checking whether they will feel comfortable and whether you have what they need.
Once those three are answered, the only thing left is a reason to come in. That is what the free trial button is for.
Pages and sections a gym website needs
A single-location gym can put all of these as sections on one page. A studio with several class types, or a gym with personal training, nutrition and group classes, does better with separate pages so each one can rank for its own search.
| Page or section | What goes on it | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Home | Name, what you are (gym, CrossFit, yoga studio), area, a photo of the floor with people in it, timings, and a "Book a free trial" WhatsApp button | Answers where, when and what in five seconds |
| Membership plans | Monthly, quarterly, half-yearly and yearly prices, what each includes, any joining fee, couple or student plans | The most-visited section; removes the biggest doubt |
| Class timetable | Day-by-day schedule with class name, time, trainer and level; women's batches marked | The second most-visited section; changes often so keep it easy to edit |
| Trainers | Photo, name, certifications, specialities, a line in their own words | People join a trainer more than a gym |
| Facilities | Equipment, floor size, cardio, functional area, showers, lockers, steam, parking, AC | Answers the "is it worth the price" question |
| Personal training and programs | Weight loss, strength, sports, senior fitness, pre and post natal, with starting prices | High-value enquiries, and separate searches |
| Results | Transformation photos and short stories, with written permission | The most convincing section when done honestly |
| Location and timings | Address, Google Maps embed, landmark, parking, opening hours, holiday timings | "Near me" searches and directions |
| Offers | New Year, monsoon, festival and referral offers with an end date | Gives people a reason to join now |
| FAQs | Timings, women's batches, parking, trial policy, freeze rules, what to bring | Saves your staff the same ten WhatsApp questions |
| Contact | Phone, WhatsApp, map, hours, Instagram link | The page people open when they are on the way |
What a good gym website looks like
Picture a mid-size neighbourhood gym. The home page opens with a wide photo of the floor during an evening session, the name, "Gym and functional training in Kothrud, Pune", and two buttons: "Book a free trial" (WhatsApp) and "See plans". Just under that: "Open 5 am to 11 pm, Sunday 6 am to 12 pm". Then three plan cards with prices and a "Most popular" tag on the quarterly one. Then four trainers with photos. Then a timetable strip for today. Then three Google reviews and a map. A WhatsApp button stays fixed in the corner throughout.
A yoga or Pilates studio version replaces the floor photo with a calm shot of a class in progress, leads with the timetable and batch types (beginners, morning, weekend, prenatal), and puts the instructor profiles higher because that is who people are choosing.
A women's-only gym, or one with separate women's batches, says so in the first line and shows women in the photos.
Membership plans: show the price
Most gym websites we see hide prices behind "Contact us for plans". Owners worry that competitors will see them or that the price will scare people. In practice, the competitor already knows your price from a phone call, and the person who is scared by the price was never going to join. What hiding the price does is send the serious person to the gym that shows it.
Show every plan as a card: duration, price, what is included, and a WhatsApp button. Show the joining fee separately if you charge one. If a New Year offer is running, show the regular price crossed out, the offer price, and the end date. If you truly cannot publish a figure, write "from ₹1,500 a month" and let WhatsApp do the rest.
Photos and content tips
- Photograph real people training, with permission, during a busy hour. An empty gym looks closed; a full one looks like a community.
- Ask members for transformation photos and get a yes on WhatsApp before you use them. Blur faces if they prefer. Never use images from the internet.
- Trainers in their own words: "I have coached powerlifting for six years and I love working with beginners" reads better than a list of certificates alone.
- Write like you talk at the front desk. "Yes, we have a women's batch at 7 am and 5 pm, and a female trainer on the floor" answers the question people are actually asking.
- Put the area in the title and the first line. "Gym in Kothrud, Pune" is what Google matches for local searches.
- Keep the timetable editable by you or your manager, not only by the developer, because it will change every month.
Connecting it to Google Business Profile, WhatsApp and Instagram
The website and the Google profile lift each other. Claim the profile, pick "Gym" or "Yoga studio" as the primary category, add the website link, and keep the name, address, phone and timings identical on both. Our guide to local SEO for small businesses explains the review and photo habits that push a gym into the map results for its area.
For WhatsApp, use a click-to-chat link with a ready message on every "Book a free trial" button: "Hi, I want to book a free trial session at [gym name]". Set quick replies for plans, timings and directions, and an away message for night hours. If you want automatic reminders for trials and renewals, that is what the WhatsApp Autopilot setup on our WhatsApp automation page does.
For Instagram, embed your latest posts on the home page and link to the website from your bio. Instagram shows the energy; the website shows the price, the timetable and the map.
What a gym website costs in India
At the time of writing, a one-page professional site with plans, timetable, trainers, map and a WhatsApp trial button typically costs ₹8,000 to ₹15,000. A five- to eight-page site with separate pages for plans, classes, personal training, trainers and results, text written for you and Google search setup usually costs ₹15,000 to ₹30,000. Online membership payments and member logins start around ₹40,000, and a gym management app usually does that job better than a website. Add ₹3,000 to ₹8,000 a year for the domain and hosting. Our guide to website development cost in India covers what moves the price and what to ask before paying anyone.
Mistakes gym owners make
- No prices, which sends serious people to the gym that shows them.
- A timetable that is a photo of the whiteboard, unreadable on a phone and outdated in a week.
- Stock photos of models in a gym that looks nothing like yours.
- Transformation photos used without asking, followed by an angry message.
- No women's batch information when it is the most common question you get.
- A trial button that opens a long form instead of WhatsApp.
- Offers with no end date, so nobody feels any urgency.
- The domain in the developer's name, so the site is stuck when you change developers.
Launch checklist
- Every plan has a price, duration and what is included.
- The timetable is text, current, and someone on your team can update it.
- Timings match Google Business Profile exactly, including Sunday.
- Google Maps embed opens directions on a phone.
- The free trial button opens WhatsApp with a ready message; test it from a friend's phone.
- Every member in a photo has said yes on WhatsApp.
- The area name is in the page title and the first paragraph.
- Women's batches, parking and trial policy are answered in the FAQs.
- Website link is added to Google Business Profile, Instagram and WhatsApp Business.
- Domain and hosting logins are in your name and saved safely.

The short version
A website for a gym answers the three questions people search for: where and when, how much, and is it for me. Show plans with prices, a readable timetable, real trainers and real members with permission, timings and a map, and a free trial button that opens WhatsApp. Match everything to your Google Business Profile and send people to Instagram for the energy. A one-page site costs under ₹10,000 and a full site ₹15,000 to ₹30,000, plus a few thousand a year for domain and hosting.
Common questions
Should I show membership prices on my gym website?
Yes. Most people searching for a gym want to know the price before they visit, and a page without prices makes them message three other gyms instead. If you run offers, show the regular price and the current offer. If you really cannot publish the exact figure, show a starting price and let WhatsApp handle the rest.
Is Instagram enough for a gym, or do I need a website?
Instagram is great for showing the gym’s energy, but it does not appear when someone searches "gym near me" on Google, it does not hold a timetable or price list well, and a new visitor cannot find your timings in two taps. A simple website with a map, prices, timetable and WhatsApp button catches those searches and sends people to Instagram for the rest.
How much does a gym website cost in India?
A professional website for a gym, fitness studio or yoga studio typically costs ₹10,000 to ₹30,000 one-time in India at the time of writing. A one-page site with plans, timings, map and WhatsApp starts under ₹10,000. Online membership payments and member logins push it above ₹40,000, and few single-location gyms need that.
Can I use transformation photos of my members on the website?
Only with their clear permission, ideally in writing on WhatsApp. Ask each member, tell them exactly where the photo will appear, and remove it if they ask later. Photos of members who agreed are the most convincing thing on a gym website; photos used without asking cause complaints and damage trust.
What should the free trial button do?
It should open WhatsApp with a ready message such as "Hi, I want to book a free trial session". Reply with two or three time options and the address. A trial booked in one tap converts far better than a form that asks for ten details.
